sustainable entrepreneurship in smart clothing

Co-funded by the European Union

OpenCom participates in the SEiSC meeting in Granada: AI and sustainable fashion for the training of the future

From 18 to 19 September, Granada will host, at the International Training Centre Reina Isabel, the latest international meeting of the SEiSC (Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Smart Clothing) project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme and led by Lounais-Hämeen koulutuskuntayhtymä (LHKK) in Finland. Hosted by the Centro de Formación Internacional Reina Isabel, the event brings together partners from across Europe for three days of discussions on sustainability, circular fashion, and digital innovation in vocational education and training (VET).

The agenda focuses on the validation of innovative training scenarios driven by Artificial Intelligence algorithms, the development of a virtual learning platform, and the design of an adaptive training plan for teachers. The overarching goal is to strengthen the capacity of VET institutions to equip students with a sustainable entrepreneurial mindset and advanced digital skills, preparing them for the challenges of a rapidly changing labour market.

SEiSC stands out for its integrated vision, combining the potential of AI with the demands of the sustainable and smart clothing sector. The project develops practical simulations and teaching pathways that connect students and teachers to the fundamental dynamics of circular businesses. This approach contributes directly to the priorities of the European Green Deal, the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, and the European Skills Agenda.

“Granada represents a crucial moment for the project,” the coordinators explain. “It is not only an opportunity to share the progress achieved so far, but also to define the next steps leading to the creation of virtual simulations and the launch of teacher training activities.”

The meeting also includes sessions on communication and quality assurance, as well as workshops among partners and cultural activities designed to strengthen the European network and foster collaboration beyond the classroom.
